Here’s your one-stop guide to family adventures Sept 28 – Oct 5 (and maybe a chance to drink your coffee while it’s still hot ā˜•ļøšŸ˜‰).

Sunday, September 28

šŸŽ  Karts & Cars at Music City Kart Plex — 9 AM – 2 PM

3225 US-231, Shelbyville TN

Car show, go-kart racing, food trucks, music, trophies & more. Free for spectators / $20 per vehicle / $8 off kart rentals. Proceeds benefit veterans.


Monday, September 29

🧪 SPARK! Program – Fall Wetlands — 9 AM – 11 AM

Discovery Center at Murfree Spring, Murfreesboro

Hands-on STEAM play for kids 1–6. Music, motion, stories, guided activities. $4 per child (registration required).

šŸ¤øā€ā™€ļø Daytime Playtime — 10 AM – 12 PM Tullahoma Gymnastics & Cheer (TGC)

Open gym play for little ones to burn energy.


Tuesday, September 30

šŸ“– Campfire Story Time – The Very Lonely Firefly — 2 PM

Discovery Center — cozy campfire story & activity (included with admission).

Discovery Center — creative edible art showing emotions through colors & shapes (included with admission).

šŸŽ¬ Watch & Talk: Teen Movie (13–18) — 3:30 PM – 6 PM

Shelbyville-Bedford County Public Library — interactive viewing of an archaeologist-who-hates-snakes classic.

šŸŽƒ Fall Harvest Festival — 3 PM – 7 PM

Lane Agri-Park, Murfreesboro — farmers market, food trucks, kids’ activities, indoor pumpkin patch, Charlie BrownĀ movie (5 & 5:30 PM).

Discovery Center — turtle feeding & fun science chat (included w/admission).

šŸŽ‰ FCSD Block Party — 4 PM – 7 PM

Downtown Winchester — music, community fun & kid activities.

šŸŖ Fall Cookie Decorating Class — 5 PM

Arnold Lakeside Complex — $20/person. Learn festive cookie decorating w/Carole Thomas (registration closed Sept 26).


Friday, October 3

Coffee County Manchester Public Library — fun themed activities for kiddos.

šŸŽØ Youth Entrepreneur Arts & Craft Class — 4 PM – 6 PM

Hallelujah Pottery / Full Circle Candles, Monteagle — creative making + biz skills for ages 7+.

šŸŽƒ Great Pumpkin Festival — 6 PM

Discovery Center — fall night fun inspired by Pixar’s Inside Out. Tickets required.

šŸ¹ Archaeoskills & Knap-In Festival (Day 1) — 1 PM – 5 PM

Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park, ManchesterCelebrate primitive skills & Native American history. Friends of Old Stone Fort baked goods & programs all weekend. Pyro Pies pizza Saturday (pre-order online), Liddy’s Lattes coffee & breakfast Sunday. Demos, atlatl throwing, vendors, camping.
